The main Job responsibility is for the adherence to and maintenance of the Quality & Environmental Management Systems.

Using the QMS & EMS, the jobholder will assist with developing and implementing business improvements to maximise Quality, Production, Profitability and Customer Satisfaction in a Manufacturing environment.

The jobholder must have a good commercial awareness and excellent communication skills with the ability to establish and develop business relationships to provide growth in the company whilst maintaining quality standards.

 

The role requires a self-motivated individual who is able to take data driven informed decisions to minimize quality-related problems.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced knowledge of TS 16949 and ISO14001 EMS (Including auditing), with a minimum of four years’ experience implementing and maintaining these standards. The successful candidate will take the lead in these activities.
  • Degree educated with a minimum of five years progressive experience in Automotive Quality related functions, or an equivalent combination of education & experience in Automotive.
  • Strong business competencies in the following areas:  APQP, FMEA’s, PPAP, Statistical analysis, Capability studies, SPC, Continuous Improvement planning, analytical thinking, problem solving, decision-making, Customer orientation
  • Strong interpersonal/behavioral competencies in the following areas:  Relationship building; team building; employee development; written & oral communication
  • Lead auditor in TS16949 is required
  • Ability to travel, as required
  • Computer literate ( eg.MS Word, Excel, Project)
  • Six sigma understanding / appreciation
  • Lean understanding / appreciation
  • Assist the Quality Manager to monitor KPI’s – PPM, CCR’s etc.
  • Primary focus of this position is to assist the Quality Manager in ensuring that the Customer Quality requirements & ppm targets are met.
  • Significant involvement in APQP/PPAP Projects
  • Work closely with Customers, operating groups and Suppliers to resolve Quality related issues
  • Assist the Quality Manager to maintain & improve quality procedures and processes and assure conformance to the TS 16949 standard.
  • Assist the Quality Manager with supervision of Quality activities & personnel
  • Assist the Quality Manager to provide Quality related technical advice to resolve Quality matters and ensure Continuous Improvement
  • Work in partnership with Production, Engineering, Logistics, Technical, Sales, Human Resources, Finance and other functional areas to achieve the Business objectives of the site
  • Management responsibilities of Departmental budget.
  • Assist the Quality Manager to coach/mentor staff to achieve continuous employee development
  • Assisting with the management of on-site method studies within the Group, to ensure optimum practices and efficiencies are achieved.
  • To manage cross-functional teams to achieve project goals across the customer base.
  • To communicate project progress against set goals within specified timescales to internal and external customers.
  • To participate in Customer events in support of Continuous Improvements of systems and processes.
  • Regularly report back to Quality Manager on developments, concerns and customer expectations on all quality related matters.
  • To assist the Quality Manager to action all levels of employees to achieve Customer Quality requirements
