Following the success of last years ball we would like to invite you to our exciting "Big Wig Ball 2010" ,at the Kinmel Manor Hotel in Abergele, to raise funds for the Wig and Head Wear Facility at the North Wales Cancer Service at Bodelwyddan.
Once again the event will be a Black Tie Dinner (wigs optional!) with a fabulous evening of entertainment provided by the exceptional entertainer, Mathew Roberts with a special cabaret dance group Distraction. A Champagne Reception followed by a three course dinner is provided along with the Best Wig Competition, an auction and many other fabulous prizes to be won; the evening promises to be one of fun and excitement, and at the same time raise big money for this very worthy charity.
For many people faced with cancer they will find that they have to cope with losing their hair as a result of treatment. For most, this is the most distressing side effect of the treatment. Hair is very much part of your self image and losing it could affect your confidence and self esteem. The Head Wear Facility at the North Wales Cancer Service provides an expert wig fitting service and advice to cancer patients providing them with confidence, self-esteem and psychological strength during a very dark period in their lives. This invaluable service, however is limited to one wig per patient; raising funds for this cause will enable the Head Wear Facility to provide an extra wig and headwear per patient along with funding self-esteem workshops for both beauty and hair advice.
Last year we raised nearly £3000 for this worthy charity and this year we are hoping to double it with your help.
Tickets are priced at £30 per head and will include the champagne reception, three course meal, and musical entertainment. The event is expected to be very well attended by many prominent local business people and I would ask you to reserve your place as soon as possible by contacting Evette Groom on 01745 887788.
Welcome to REC's 9th National Temporary Workers Week in which we all celebrate the enormous contribution the UK's temporary, interim and contract workforce makes to national, regional and local economies.
Each week, recruitment and staffing agencies across the UK place around 1.2million workers in the most wide-ranging spectrum of jobs and assignments, spanning every conceivable sector of business, industry, public and private services. The temporary market in the UK is worth £24bn to GDP.
With the recession biting and the Agency Workers Directive around the corner, it's never been more vital that we take stock and tell the world just how much difference temporary and flexible working makes.
